Percy Talks in Duncan
Known as the ‘The David and the Goliath’ for small farms across the country, Percy has been standing up for the rights of farmers and their seeds against Monsanto for the past ten years. This particular bio-tech company is one of the largest seed producers in the world, but it is also the main culprit of the GMO’s that have secretly made their way into our groceries. During his speech, Percy discussed some heavy issues regarding the health concerns and environmental issues surrounding GMO’s, as well as the hazards that GMO’s present to the future of farming. However, Percy also lightened the evening with his down-to-earth advice of how both farmers and consumers can positively fight for change against GMO’s and how to avoid consuming groceries that aren’t in your best interest to eat.
