Grow a Row

We challenge you to dedicate one row of your vegetable garden for the food bank. One row can help people in your community gain access to fresh, healthy food. The local food banks need more unprocessed food, and grow a row is a great way for you to contribute.

Grow a Row has a number of objectives:

Food Security Map

Cowichan Food Security Mapping Project

How "food secure" is the Cowichan Valley?

Agriculture has long been a part of the Cowichan Valley’s identity; however, our ability to buy local and nutritious food is of significant concern...

Community Gardens

Kinsmen Community Garden

The Kinsmen garden is on Alderlea Street, behind Cowichan Secondary School.

For $20 a year, you can rent a garden plot, which gives a 4' X 8' plot and access to a well stocked garden shed.
